A less stressful, more connected working day

The Transit Custom’s technology takes some of the stress out of your working day, simply by making driving less hassle – especially in urban areas. To make life easier still, the cabin functions as a mobile office, with lots of clever stowage areas and a fold-down table, which is ideal for a laptop. And Ford SYNC voice control keeps you in touch (by mobile phone) and entertained, hands-free. Even the driving seat is fully adjustable, as is the new steering wheel, to enable you to find the perfect, most comfortable driving position.

The Transit Custom has several advanced features designed to make driving as close to effortless as possible.

Easier reversing with a rear view camera
Bollards, bins, low walls… the Rear View Camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into your rear view mirror. Not only can it help you see things you might miss, but it also helps you park, by displaying virtual lines to guide you into the smallest space. For added convenience, it activates automatically when you select reverse gear. The Rear View Camera is available as an option with Lane Keeping Alert. (Optional). (see the Safety and Security page).

Sensors that take the stress out of parking

Optional Parking Distance Sensors help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles, in front or behind you. When they detect an object, they activate an audible warning that intensifies, the closer you get. The feature is designed to help you park more confidently. (Optional)

Easier manoeuvring at night time

At night, when you need to make a tight turn, the Transit Custom helps you with a new cornering light feature (optional). It activates at speeds below 30kph, when the steering wheel is turned or indicators operated. The cornering light, positioned at the top of the headlamp, then turns on automatically to illuminate the appropriate side of the road, helping you see it clearly. That way, it’s easier to carry out the manoeuvre. (Optional)

Less tiring, more economical journeys

Cruise Control with Adjustable Speed Limiter helps keep your van within a pre-set speed limit of your choice. It can save you fuel, minimise the chance of you speeding and, like all cruise control systems, maintain your speed for you, so you don’t have to keep thinking about it. (Optional)

Clever design, a crafted interior and cutting edge technology combine to make working life more comfortable, more convenient and more connected for the Transit Custom driver.

Ford SYNC. Advanced hands-free technology
With Ford SYNC voice control, you can control your music, and make and take mobile phone calls, hands-free, using simple, intuitive voice commands. For example, if you simply say “Call home”, the system will call your home (assuming ‘Home’ appears in your mobile phone’s contact list). It will even read out loud the text messages sent to your mobile.*
SYNC also enables you to play tracks from a USB or MP3/iPod, or stream music from your mobile, using the same kind of simple voice commands. So you can always keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
Another important feature is Emergency Assistance. Provided your mobile phone is connected to SYNC, this technology can use it to help call the emergency services, if it detects you’ve had an accident. (Optional)

New, more comfortable front seats

The driving seat is fully adjustable, along with the steering wheel, so you can find your ideal driving position. There’s a built-in armrest too, while adjustable lumbar support and heated seats are options. In fact, while providing commercial vehicle standards of durability, the seats are designed to be as comfortable as those you’d find in a car. So whether you use the van for long distance journeys or frequent short trips, you’ll enjoy a more relaxing day in the office chair.

All you need to help you work on the move

The cab of the Transit Custom has plenty of features to assist you in your working life. If you choose a dual front passenger seat, for example, the centre seat is fitted with a fold-out table which is big enough for a laptop or clipboard. You’ll also benefit from class-leading stowage: a hidden stowage area under the dual front passenger seat, offering 93 litres of space; a concealed compartment in the instrument panel for your mobile phone or MP3/iPod (including a 12 volt socket); a glove box in which you can hang A4 folders; and of course, several handy bottle holders and cup holders.

As much entertainment as you like

A wide range of the latest in-car entertainment and information equipment is available, including a top level package of DAB radio, CD, USB port, multi-function display, all-Europe navigation, rear view camera, Ford SYNC and a sophisticated speaker arrangement.

Wipers that automatically adjust to the rain

Rain-sensing wipers spring into action the instant they detect moisture on your windscreen, then adjust their speed to deal with whatever the weather throws at you. You can even choose from six sensitivity levels, which determine how much moisture builds up before the wipers clear it. Rain-sensing wipers are available as an option with auto-headlights (see below). (Optional)

Headlights that turn on automatically when needed

The Transit Custom has sensors that detect fading light, and trigger the auto-headlights to turn on, making driving at dusk easier. They also turn on automatically when you enter a tunnel. Auto-headlights are available as an option with rain-sensing wipers (see above). (Optional)

Quickclear heated windscreen puts an end to scraping

Just press a button and integral heating elements quickly clear the ice or snow, so you don’t have to. (Optional)

Ford Easy-Fuel, for foolproof filling-up

This makes it almost impossible to put the wrong fuel in your van, because the wrong nozzle simply won’t fit. And as Ford Easy-Fuel is a capless system, you’ll never have to handle a dirty fuel cap again.

Wing mirrors that fold themselves away from harm

Optional power-foldable mirrors fold inwards at the push of a button, to avoid accidental damage. They’re also heated, to ensure you still get a clear view in freezing temperatures, with side repeaters (indicators). (Optional)

Auto High Beam. Helping you see, without dazzling others
A useful night-driving aid, Auto High Beam temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead, stopping you dazzling other drivers. Then it automatically reverts back to high beam, giving you maximum visibility. Auto High Beam is available as an option with Lane Keeping Alert. (Optional)
*Ford Sync functionality may vary depending on mobile phone compatibility

Best-in-class loadspace and more

The Ford Transit has a hard-earned reputation for capability and practicality. The all-new Transit Custom builds on this, with many ingenious, practical design features to help you work more easily and efficiently – from class-leading loadspace (and class-leading access to it) to a unique, integrated roof rack. Equally importantly, the vehicle is also engineered to keep the cost of ownership to a minimum, with best-in-class service intervals of 50,000 km or two years. So the Transit Custom will not only save you hassle during your working day, it will also save you substantial amounts of money over the long term.
Unique, load-through storage area
The Transit Custom has a unique feature designed to extend its load space. A full height, full width bulkhead divides the load area from the passenger cabin and this bulkhead has a flip-up panel at floor level. This means you can load items up to 3m long through the rear doors and into an extended storage area under the van’s dual passenger seats, even in the short wheelbase version. This smart feature enables you to keep valuable materials inside your vehicle, rather than on display on the roof.
Integrated Roof Rack improves convenience, economy and noise
A unique, innovative roof rack simply folds flat when not in use. As well as saving you the hassle of bolting on and taking off a conventional rack, it lets you pass under 2m height restrictions (except for the 3,300 kilo Gross Vehicle Mass model). It also helps save fuel because of reduced drag, and gives you a quieter ride with less wind noise. (Optional)
 Class-leading load space and access

The Transit Custom’s loadspace is class-leading in all three dimensions: load length, width (from wheel arch to wheel arch) and usable interior height. As a result, it can easily carry standard 8’ x 4’ boards placed on their side or flat on the floor, three euro pallets and, thanks to its unique load-through storage area, items up to 3m long. Overall, the van provides a cavernous six cubic metres of loadspace with a bulkhead fitted – and that’s just the short wheelbase (L1) version. The long wheelbase (L2) offers 6.8 cubic metres. Access to loadspace is unparalleled too, as the Transit Custom has the widest side load door opening of any vehicle of its type, class-leading opening height and the low rear access step. The sliding doors also have a new checking mechanism which holds them securely open for loading.

Specially designed protection for your load floor

An optional easy-clean load-floor liner means you don’t have to install your own covering. This heavy duty floor makes it easy to slide goods in and out, makes sweeping and cleaning quicker and easier, and will help maintain the residual value of your van.

Better lighting for easier, safer loading

Optional super-bright, energy efficient LED lights for the load area are invaluable when you’re working in gloomy conditions. They’re another simple, yet practical, innovation.

More practical, more secure cargo restraints

Tie-down points are usually mounted on the floor. But they can be hard to get at when you’re trying to secure your cargo. So Transit Custom has tie-down points positioned just above the floor on the side wall of the load space. This leaves the floor clear of obstructions, making access easier, eliminates dirt traps and allows for the new easy-clean load-floor liner. Additional fixing points are provided at waist and shoulder height, built into the structure of the vehicle, and can each take an impressive 30kgs of load.

Class-leading service intervals

The Transit Custom’s advanced Duratorq diesel engine is exceptionally economical, durable and reliable. Components subject to normal wear and tear have also been designed to go for longer without needing maintenance. This means service intervals are set at 50,000 km or two years.

Peace of mind with an anti-perforation warranty
Peace of mind with an anti-perforation warranty
The Transit Custom is backed up by a reassuringly long, 12 year anti-perforation warranty.

Performance, economy and car-like handling

The Transit Custom is powered by an advanced diesel engine, which can offer performance and economy in varying combinations. To ensure the power under the bonnet translates into a rewarding, controlled drive, no effort has been spared to deliver the best possible handling. While a variety of ECOnetic technologies ensures that the van’s performance is as fuel-efficient as possible, with minimal CO2 emissions. For maximum efficiency, there’s a broad range of ECOnetic models with a choice of short (L1) or long wheelbase (L2) and 2700kg, 2900kg or 3100kg GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass).

The new Transit Custom lets you choose how much power you need and what level of fuel economy. You can be sure there’s a combination that meets the demands of your work perfectly.
A powerful, fuel-efficient diesel engine
The Transit Custom comes with an advanced and economical 2.2 litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine, with six speed manual transmission and front wheel drive.
There are three power levels to choose from: 100 PS/310 Nm, 125 PS/350 Nm or 155 PS/385 Nm. Whichever you decide upon, torque and torque delivery are both improved, so the vehicle offers you plenty of power whether it’s loaded up or not – even when pulling away.
And, combined with Ford ECOnetic Technologies, the engine lowers the cost of ownership, reduces the van’s impact on the environment and meets stringent Euro Stage V emissions standards.
The Transit Custom combines class-leading ride and handling, and precision steering, with outstanding stability and control in all load conditions. In fact, it offers similar levels of driving enjoyment to Ford cars.
Controlled fun with a finely tuned chassis
A meticulously tuned chassis, substantially stiffened in both front and rear axles, brings excellent levels of stability and control. The benefit is increased, thanks to an optimised, ultra-stiff body structure.
 Maximum grip for greater control

Torque Vectoring Control reacts to the road surface 100 times per second. (That’s 33 times faster than the blink of an eye.) Using this information, it balances the amount of power delivered to each of the two front wheels. This maximises grip and sharpens handling, helping you round corners and over undulations in the road.

The Transit Custom achieves best-in-class fuel economy. The ECOnetic model delivers from 6.3l/100km and CO2 emissions as low as 162g/km. As well as the economical engine itself, a range of ECOnetic technologies combine to attain these class-leading figures.

Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop
When your van is stationary, such as at traffic lights or idling in a queue, this optional technology automatically switches off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the aircon and radio) then restarts it the moment you're ready to move. The system is extremely effective if you do most of your driving in town, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).

A smarter way to re-charge your battery

Unlike conventional systems, Smart Regenerative Charging only charges the battery when it needs it and, whenever possible, avoids doing so when you’re pressing the accelerator. This can help save even more fuel and reduce emissions further still.

Acceleration Control helps you drive more economically

This innovative new option controls the rate of acceleration of the Transit Custom according to whether it’s unladen or part-laden. As a result, you can expect to lower your fuel consumption by up to 15%, depending on your usual driving style. The technology can also help reduce the amount of wear and tear on the engine, brakes and tyres, among other things.

Shift Indicator for fuel-efficient gear changes
A light on the instrument panel tells you when to change gear for maximum fuel efficiency. It’s a simple but effective way to help make every journey more economical.
* Figures quoted are for short wheelbase ECOnetic model fitted with a 100 km/h speed limiter.

New levels of protection

The Transit Custom sets new standards for a commercial vehicle in safeguarding its occupants and pedestrians. In fact, it’s the first and only vehicle in its segment to ever achieve a maximum 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. It’s also the first commercial vehicle to have received Euro NCAP Advanced rewards for technology. These are for two innovative technologies: Lane Keeping Alert and Ford SYNC® with Emergency Assistance, which can call the emergency services for you in the event of an accident.
Emergency Assistance in an accident
In the unlikely event of an accident, Ford SYNC’s award-winning Emergency Assistance feature is triggered by an airbag activating or the fuel pump being cut off. So long as your mobile phone is connected to SYNC, the technology can use it to help make a direct call to the emergency services, giving them crucial information, such as your GPS coordinates, and enabling you to talk to them yourself. Emergency Assistance won ‘Best Mobile Innovation for Automotive Transport or Utilities’ at the 2012 Global Mobile Awards.

Extra control during hill starts
Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2.5 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.
An advanced system to help you stay in lane

If it detects that you’re accidentally drifting out of lane, Lane Keeping Alert can alert you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. (You can set the vibration to one of three levels of sensitivity.)

Driver Alert warns you when it detects you’re tired

Driver Alert constantly monitors your driving behaviour and is designed to detect any changes which could be caused by fatigue. If it identifies that you’re becoming less vigilant, a warning icon appears in the display, suggesting you take a break. Ford won a prestigious Euro NCAP Advanced Reward for this technology*.

A warning behind when you brake sharply
The Emergency Brake Light (EBL) system automatically flashes the hazard lights to warn other drivers when you brake heavily.

*Awarded for Driver Alert technology on the Ford Focus
5-star safety to protect you
Transit Custom is the first and only van in its segment to have received the maximum 5-star rating by leading safety organisation Euro NCAP.
ESP helps you stay in control whatever the conditions
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) constantly monitors your van’s progress. It senses any deviations from your chosen driving line, such as if you start to skid, and automatically corrects your road position, helping you keep control of the vehicle. The technology also helps reduce stopping distances in an emergency.

Control features that adapt to your load

Load Adaptive Control (LAC) adjusts the Electronic Stability Programme according to whether the Transit Custom is laden or unladen. This ensures control and stability under all loading conditions.

Continuous protection against rolling over

Roll-over Mitigation (ROM) monitors the Transit Custom and identifies dangerous driving conditions that could lead to it rolling over. The system then triggers ESP to intervene, control the speed and restore stability

Keeping your trailer safely in line

Trailer Sway Control (TSC) detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces the Transit Custom’s speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. It slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.

Maximum grip with minimum effort

Our advanced Traction Control System (TCS) eliminates excessive wheelspin and gives you the best possible grip, performance and stability, just when you need it most. The system constantly monitors and adjusts the power delivered to the vehicle’s individual wheels ensuring maximum contact and grip, when you’re accelerating.

Safer braking, whether loaded or not

The Transit Custom combines an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with an electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) technology, which balances braking effort between front and rear, depending on whether the vehicle is laden or unladen. The result is effective braking and steering stability, crucially when braking mid corner, and improved short distance stopping whatever the conditions.

Extra power for emergency braking

Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) helps the Transit Custom achieve maximum braking effectiveness in an emergency situation. The system senses how much pressure you’ve applied to the brake yourself and automatically increases it, if necessary. To further reduce your stopping distance, new Hydraulic Rear Boost provides additional brake pressure on the rear brakes during an emergency stop, when the ABS system is activated.

Enhanced airbag system

The Transit Custom is available with curtain, driver, passenger and side airbags and an improved activation system.

Maximum protection with a super-strong bodyshell

The Transit Custom is the first ever Transit with a body containing ultra-high-strength boron steel. Boron and other high or ultra-high-strength steels make up more than 40% of the bodyshell, including parts of the passenger safety cell. This makes it extremely light and crash-resistant. The design of the bodyshell has also been optimised, using over 4,500 computer simulations and 30 full-vehicle crash tests.

A more secure remote central locking system
The Transit Custom has remote control central door-locking as standard. And this new locking system is more secure than ever. That’s because you can open one individual door without automatically unlocking the others. The other doors stay securely locked, until you activate a switch on the driver’s door. In fact, you can use this switch to control the locking and unlocking of all the vehicle’s doors.

Anti-tamper shielded door locks
All door locks are protected by anti-tamper shielding designed to prevent them being broken by drilling or chiselling.

An advanced key fob makes central locking twice as secure

A new advanced flip-key fob makes the Transit Custom doubly difficult to steal, as the transmitter within it has two channels – which means the key is virtually impossible for a thief to scan or copy. This rechargeable fob is also tamper and water-proof to withstand the stresses of the working environment.

Full steel bulkhead keeps thieves out

A full-height, full-width steel bulkhead prevents thieves accessing the contents of your loadspace by breaking into your cab. It also acts as a safety feature, protecting you from being hit by your cargo or tools, in the event of an accident.

Two high level alarm options

The new Transit Custom is available with an optional perimeter alarm system, which is set off if the doors or bonnet are opened by force. A more sophisticated Thatcham Category 1 alarm system is also available. This automatically arms itself when you lock the vehicle and a powerful alarm sounds if triggered by forced entry, the vehicle being lifted, or if the motion sensors pick up any movement inside.

 An extra, independent back-up alarm

A battery back-up sounder is an additional, secondary alarm system which comes with the Thatcham alarm option. This will sound a siren when the alarm is triggered. It has its own battery so will activate even if someone disconnects the vehicle battery.

Zgjidhni tipin e kabines qe i pershatet biznesit tuaj

The all-new Transit Custom is available in 3 bodystyles (Van, Double-Cab-in-Van and Kombi), with two wheelbases and a variety of payload options from the class-leading loadspace. For even more specialised features, our Special Vehicle Operations Group can provide an extensive range, from unique body colours to bespoke interior loading systems. Find out more about loadspace here.

The Transit Custom Van is a functional load carrier, with a full-height, full-width bulkhead (glazed or unglazed), which separates the loadspace from the cabin, and the choice of two or three seats in the front. It has the same Flexible Rear Seating system but with an extra – third – row of three seats. With all the seats present, you can carry up to nine people. As on the Kombi Van, the seats can be folded and rolled together to take up less space. And it’s quick and easy to create a generous load area: just fold any or all of the back row seats and move them forward, until they’re right behind the second row. If you prefer, the seats can be taken out altogether, giving you maximum load space.
